What is the best way to remove the body? (1947 Coupe) I would like to a frame restoration before I start on the body. Any good susgestions? I want to do it here at home. Lifting points and what to use so as not to damage the body. Thanks Rich Smithen

Some ways to remove the body...

a dozen friends with good backs
a forklift rated at the correct weight with long forks
a gantry system with lifting capabilities

once you get the body off a rolling cart is a minimum requirement but a rotisserie would make your life and your build a lot better, especially if you're planning a frame off.

Eastwood Tools had a decently priced one - but there website says they are out of stock and no pricing right now?

I don't know your model car but a forum member here, Silverone, also runs www.hudsoncollector.com (http://www.hudsoncollector.com) and has a nice thread going on a gentlement named Hugh who made his own gantry lift and rotisserie.

The wood gantry looks pretty simple and safe - I might need to look at something similar for an upcoming restoration I'm thinking of taking on for some side $$.

Other than that I know someone will have the specifics on lift points and your other questions.
