I need a little bit of help, what is a "shorty". I have asked several body shops in Indiana and they all say that Chevy did not make them. But when I talk to the person selling the car he claims it has not been modified? Can someone help? I do not want to make an 8hr. drive to see a car that has been cut.

Thanks

A shorty, as far as I know of the term, is a car, in most cases a 4 door car, that has had the section with the back doors removed and the rear quarters moved forward up to right behind the front doors. In my opinion, they are ugly as home-made sin, even uglier than ones with the rear doors just welded shut and bodywork done to hide the seams and not shortened up. The factory never made a shorty '57 Chevy . If you check this link..
