396 short block 3855961 other numbers?

I have a 396 short block I have been hanging onto for years and I am thinking about selling it. Where can I find out how to decode the numbers on the front of the block, so I can be as specific as possible when selling this thing. Also any Idea what is a fair price for this thing, as far as I know its never been touched.
