This is my first post here, i'm usually over on the jeep forums....So anyways my dad has a 1972 Oldsmobile 88 with a 455 4 barrel, powerglide tranny, 70k, and it's 100% original in mint condition. My question is, how much do you think it's worth? or what's the range of prices it could have? an estimate would be great. Thanks

He probably has a Turbo 350 trans. Olds never sold cars with Powerglides.

The transmission is more likely a Turbo 400 with the 455 engine. The Powerglide was a Chevrolet 2-speed automatic and never appeared in an Olds as stated by Oldcar Mechanic. I used to own a '72 Delta 88 Royale 2-door hardtop with a 455 4-barrel, TH400 and a 2:73 rear end. It was a pretty car, dark blue with a white vinyl top and blue interior but I was actually disappointed with the performance of the car. I figured the top end would be pretty good with that high rear end. I tried finding that top end one day and the car topped out at 98mph, wouldn't even hit 100. I know it was an awfully heavy car and that may have affected it some but I think the problem was actually more that the car had probably pretty much been dogged before I got it. Good luck with selling your Dad's.
