Does anyone know where I could get a '46 Hudson transmission with overdrive on the west coast? I live in Hawaii so CA or WA would be great. I found one in Utah but shipping costs to the coast alone is $400.00 via Yellow freight. Across the ocean to Hawaii is only $99.00. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check with Bill Albright in Fontana Ca. I don't have his # but it is in the roster.

To expand your search, any single lever thru early 52 is the same tranny. You'll have to bolt it to your 46 bellhousing.

My '46 came with a '49 262 and transmission. Could I bolt a '46 bell housing to the the '49 transmission? I think I had asked Walt Mordenti and he said I could not bolt the two together. He said the transmission would not seal and would leak into the clutch. That would be great if I could bolt the two together. Thanks,

Far be it from me to disagree with Walt for I follow his advice. He must have had a bad seal for I have a 49 OD tranny bolted to my 46 pickup 6.
The cutaway drawings in the 41-47, and the 48-54 manuals are
the same but to be sure, I just got back from the shed where I have both a 47 and 49 Bellhousing and tranny. I took them apart and the seals and shafts are identical. I suspect the leftover 47 trannys all made their way into 48s as I can't tell the difference.

I checked with walt again. he said he checked the manuals for both and they are the same. So I will be getting a bell housing from Glenn johnson. Thanks for the help.

I have transmissions and bell housings, do you need a three speed with overdrive, or without. Bill albrights Vintage Coach, Fontana, cal, 70 miles from the dock.

But I just sent out my payment today for a bell housing from Glen Johnson. I may need other parts later on though and I will contact you then. You are much closer and it would be alot cheaper for some of the larger parts I may need. Again Thank you everyone!

You can ship UPS 2nd day air to Hawaii. Ups now takes up to 150 lbs, which would cover a transmission. They would be a lot cheaper !

I live in Southern CA and have a 1949 6 cylinder with overdirve trans that I am willing to depart with.
