Hello.

We have restored automobile Chevrolet Delray release of 1958.
We ask you to help us.We had some difficulties. You could not
prompt us, what type of gasoline was used on motors
(Straight-Six Engine) of that time.
What type of spark plugs was established on engines. Or prompt
modern analogues of these details. More preferably from rulers
the Champion, NGK and BOSH.
We shall be glad to any information

Nice to hear from a fellow Chevy fan from Russia. How did you find this car. And how do you find and get your restoration parts?

Thanks all for the help.
At us very big problem with the carburettor.
We cannot understand with a principle of his action and his adjustment. Whether you can send us a copy of the instruction on service and adjustment of the carburettor by e-mail.
We shall be glad to any technical information on service the given car. In Russia there is no literature on the given automobile.

You might try Chevy.com, and drop them an email. I recently began restoring a 1966 pick-up and when I wrote them for info they sent what they called a restoration packet. Jam packed full of good information.
Hope this helps, and good luck with a great car.

Hello Nordix. The caberator is actually a simple thing to work out. In its basic principle the engine vacuum pulls fuel up a tube and into the throat of the carburetor. The fuel metering is accomplished by a restricted orifice in the unit (at the base of the fuel bowl). The key to getting the proper fuel/air mixture is in the float level. I like to describe it a toilet. The higher the level in the bowl the more draw of the fluid. There is a setting for the float level in the float bowl that must be maintained. If it's too high the engine will flood. If it's too low the engine will starve for fuel. My references indicate you should have a Rochester R carburetor. I do not have the float level specifications for the R type carburetor (sorry) maybe one of the other smart Chevy guys can help you out there.

Nordix, that car looks great. It would turn heads in Canada. Probably break necks were you are.
