Default 1973 Impala

Sup all, I'm kind of a newb when it comes to classic cars. There is a guy in my neighborhood trying to sell a 1973 Impala (not an SS) which I am interested in buying; he wants $4500 dollars for it. It looks like it is in really great shape, but what are some things I should look out for? Also, what is a good place I might go to find out specs on the car and prices that they typically go for? Thanks for the info, e-mail me at Earendil61@hotmail.com if you like.

I'm no expeert in the field either but I did have a 1974 Impala and it rusted out around where the swing arm hooks to the frame. Car still looked great but the rear end would kinda wag like a dogs tail. For $4500 it's worth paying a mechanic to check the car over before you buy. AND if it is in good shape the seller shouldn't mind.
Happy motoring
