Supercharged '36 Packard Coupe
I know, I know... it isn't a Hudson, but I had to share this link. Great example of what can be done to upgrade early hardware...
Scroll down to see the fabbed intake, throttle body EFI and modern Paxton!

Re: Supercharged '36 Packard Coupe
Very Nicely done and might even be acceptable to some of the Packard Purists. That's got to be an "Old Club" with little new blood coming up. If I had a Neat Fat Fendered Packard, I wouldn't feel bad about Street Rodding it!

Re: Supercharged '36 Packard Coupe
Back in '55 I bought a used but good McCullough supercharger for my Hornet-powered 47 S6 brougham. After casing the job, I concluded it was going to be pretty tough to find a suitable carb or make a "pressure box" to enclose the standard carb. Upon finding an Edmunds head and triple intake manifold, I decided to go with that instead, and sold the blower. While the engine looked cool with the Edmunds equipment, I've always wondered how it would have been with the McCullough instead. (By the way, Glen Johnson in UT has that very same triple intake manifold today ... not just one like it, but the same one!)

Re: Supercharged '36 Packard Coupe
Here is a photo of my triple intake manifold. It was my intent to use this on a 308 in my 37 Terraplane pickup. However, everyone informed me that the Terraplane had too short of a front end and too much weight would hang over the front axle making it hard to steer. So...I didn't go with a 308 and I'm still looking for something deserving to use the triple intake manifold. Along this line, I've tried to encourage Brownie Petersen to put a 308 with Twin-H in his 39 roadster, which he is very reluctant to do. Maybe if I offer to sell him my triple intake manifold, this might convince him to go with a 308! What'd you say Brownie?

Re: Supercharged '36 Packard Coupe
You need to remember that the dyno is measuring wheel horsepower, not flywheel horsepower. There can be quite a bit of loss between the flywheel and rear wheels!
